My laptop is infected - per Microsoft Support
I have been experiencing an intermittent problem with my hard drive.
The symptoms include a strange noise coming form the disk, and, at the same time, the system slows way down.
My PC Doctor software fails a Targeted Read Test.
I contacted Microsoft support to verify the status of my image backup copy in the event I would need it to restore the system to a new hard drive.
MS support took a look at the computer - and several locations in the registry - and determined that it is deeply infected?
I have NIS 2012 (Windows 7) installed and before that NIS 2011, 2010, 2009.
I downloaded and ran Norton Power Eraser. No Risks [were] Found.
Does Norton have another tool to remove "deep infections"?
