Norton Power Eraser, possibly deleted items needed cannot restore

HI all,

Today Norton Power eraser informed me that I had multiple pieces of software to delete that were not needed.

I reviewed the software and was happy for it to go (mainly old games etc). I returned home having left it running and saw that it was scanning/ deleteing my d:\ which is a separate media/ documents drive. I stopped the process and on further inspection found it had deleted all my word docs/ videos/ photoes etc from this drive, leaving the folders but deleting within.

I followed the prompts to restore and it informed me it could restore only 3 programs, yet i am missing 750 gig of video, alot of photoes and documents. I have tried speaking to norton who said that they could only see the 3 files deleted and could only restore them.

So my question is where is my media and how can i recover it? why is it also not showing in the restore options?? and why has it deleted such an array of things, i dont care who is to blame i just want my items back!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Alex,

If you are still facing an issue with NPE, please contact our Norton Support for further assistance. Thanks

Thanks Alex. Our team is working on this issue, and we'll let you know when we have more information. Thanks for your help in working to resolve it.

the system restore point only offered to restore 3 programs, there was no restore option for my separate drive d:\ which is where all my media and documents were located.

so unfortunately that is no good!

Alex

Hi Alex,

NPE makes a system restore point. Since it took a very long time to run, you may be able to recover those files using that feature.

We are reviewing the log file for any additional clues as to what may have happened.

Let us know if system restore solved the problem.
