Issue abstract: Browser Hijacked?
Detailed description:
Constantly have problems with Norton Private Browser, and even hitting “reset” in Settings doesn’t help. I don’t want to have to keep uninstalling and reinstalling it, just to end up with it compromised sooner or later.
-
Norton homepage isn’t supposed to have advertisements. I know have a Large Walmart Ad, top middle of the page. It’s probably a hack so I’m not going to click it, but I cannot get rid of it. Have tried resetting the settings, nothing works.
-
This is irratic, but at times I get a blank page with a DNX message. Cant replicate it right now but it says something with an “NX” in the script and basically it cannot find the web page i put in the URL field (search). Which is odd because they are usually very common pages. It seems to happen more when the Norton Safe Search Enhanced extension is installed.
-
Extensions: Chrome Store’s Norton Safe Search and Norton Safe Search Enhanced. Which is the better one to use? I’m thinking the enhanced one doesn’t work and beginning to wonder if one is actually a scam.
-
Privacy Guard. Sometims Privacy Guard gets stuck on “Paused” and there is nothing in its “Setting” to unpause it. Clicking on the icon doesn’t unpause it either. How to Unpause Privacy Guard, please??
So the above are the issues I am having with Norton Private Browser. Its super frustrating to download a browser from a Security Company that seems to be less secure than the rest. Is it actually hijacked? This stuff keeps happening to members over and over again. I’m not opening phishing emails or anything.
