2 - Will Norton products be compatible with Mac OS X 10.6?
Norton AntiVirus for Mac version 11 and Norton Internet Security for Mac version 4 are scheduled to be updated to become compatible with Mac OS X 10.6. Compatibility dates for these Norton products will be communicated on this website. These updates are planned to be made available automatically online via LiveUpdate, free of charge.
3 - Why is there a delay between the availability of Mac OS X 10.6 and Norton products becoming compatible with the new Mac OS?
The final version of Mac OS X 10.6 was not made public until August 28, 2009 and it is necessary to test and ensure compatibility with this new operating system. This process requires a period of time.
4 - How can I get the update?
Updates are planned to be made available automatically online via LiveUpdate, free of charge. Given the number of changes in Mac OS X 10.6, the LiveUpdate process for these product updates may take a longer period of time than normal.

7 - What will happen if I install Mac OS X 10.6 and I have Norton products installed?
Norton AntiVirus 11 for Mac:
- You will receive an alert when you start your Mac indicating that some components of Norton AntiVirus have been moved to the incompatible software folder.
- Auto-Protect (Real time scanning) does not work.
- Vulnerability Protection is partially functional.
Norton Internet Security 4 for Mac:
- You will receive the same alert regarding the antivirus component of Norton Internet Security.
- Intrusion Protection is partially functional.
- Phishing Protection in 64-bit Safari does not work.
- Auto-Protect (Real time scanning) does not work.
- Confidential Data Protection is partially functional.
- File Guard is partially functional.
