Norton PWM Icon on Login Websites

SAFARI BROWSER: A small password manager icon used to appear when filling in login details. Clicking it would automatically open the PWM to autofill. This icon has disappeared recently, and restarting hasn't helped.
Does anybody know how to restore the icon in the login field?

I see the thread is tagged iOS. Are you using an iPhone or iPad, and which version of iOS/iPadOS are you running?
Are using Safari on a Mac, iPhone, or iPad, and which version of macOS/iOS/iPadOS you’re running? The Norton Password Manager autofill integration differs between the platforms.

If this is Safari on a Mac, there have been multiple recent reports of the Norton Password Manager / Norton Safe Web Plus icon no longer appearing in username and password fields even though the extension is enabled. Some users report that restarting, reinstalling, and re-enabling the extension does not restore the icon, suggesting there may be a Safari compatibility issue that Norton still needs to address.

That said, I’d check these items first:

1. Safari Extensions

• Safari → Settings → Extensions
• Confirm Norton Safe Web Plus is enabled.

2. macOS Password & Autofill Settings

• System Settings → General → AutoFill & Passwords
• Password Options
• Verify AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys is enabled and Norton Password Manager is allowed as a provider.

3. Safari AutoFill

• Safari → Settings → AutoFill
• Ensure username/password autofill is enabled. Some users have also tested temporarily disabling Safari’s native password manager to see if it is conflicting with Norton.

4. Extension Permissions

Hello BJM, thank you for your answer. I am using a MacBook Air 2022 running Mac OS Tahoe 26.5.1, Safari Version 26.5

Also i am using the NORTON Safe Web Plus App and the Icon disappeared from all login pages!

at 5: the icon apperas and opens, but clicking on the suggested login does not help to autofill. It just opens a new tab of this login page, no autofill possible

Also I am using the NORTON Safe Web Plus App and the Icon disappeared from all login pages!

Thank you for the additional details. Since the issue occurs on all login pages, and since the Norton Password Manager vault still opens but no longer autofills, this does not appear to be site-specific.

The fact that selecting a stored login simply opens a new tab with the login page rather than filling the credentials suggests the extension can still locate the saved login but is failing to interact with the page fields.

Have you checked whether Norton Safe Web Plus still has permission to access websites in Safari Settings > Extensions? Also, did the problem begin after updating to macOS Tahoe 26.5.1 or Safari 26.5?

If other Mac users running Tahoe 26.5.1 can confirm the same behavior, that would point toward a Safari/Norton extension compatibility issue rather than a local configuration problem.

Since you’re running the latest macOS Tahoe and Safari releases, I wonder whether a recent OS/browser update may have affected the Norton extension’s ability to interact with login fields. Have you already contacted Norton Support or opened a support ticket, and if so, did they indicate whether this is a known issue?

Given that the issue affects all login pages and the vault still opens, I’d be interested to know whether Norton is aware of any issues with Safari 26.5/macOS Tahoe 26.5.1.

If you click in the login box does NPM offer login details to enter? Later versions of NPM seem to work this way on all platforms.

Norton Password Manager is strictly click-to-fill. It does not automatically populate credentials the moment a page loads without you clicking the Norton icon or a prompt.

Norton Password Manager does not fill in your credentials automatically the moment a page loads without any action from you.

It uses a click-to-fill system. When you visit a login page:

1. A small Norton logo/icon appears inside the username and password fields.
2. You must click that icon (or a pop-up prompt) to select your account and trigger the filling process.

This is a deliberate security feature designed to prevent malicious websites from “grabbing” your credentials from hidden form fields without your knowledge.

Even though this is a Norton Password Manager issue, it is on a Mac. I have had this thread moved to the 360 for Mac forum board for better exposure to Mac users.
