Norton Removal Tool (NRT) now compatible for v21!

Hello all!

Look, what I've found a few minutes ago on the official FTP from Symantec:

NRT download link

Symantec updated the NRT today, what means, that in case that somebody wnts to uninstall the just released v21, he can do it now without to worry for compatibility issues.

I just wanted to mention it to you, maybe somebdody wants to know, where to find it via direct link without long searching ;)

PS: even if you're not an english customer, I've had never problems with the older versions to uninstall my Norton - and I'm German (Thx, Cpt. Obvious :D).

Have a nice day,

Stephan

Thanks for that info The_gemrman_user,

Additionally, the Norton Knowledge Based Article for the Norton Removal Tool has been updated also for NAV, NIS and N 360.

Also the direct download of:

www.norton.com/nrt

What about the Norton Remove & Reinstall Tool (NRnR.exe)?

Anybody know where to get the latest NIS 21-compatible version of that tool?

Hi jazzeyman,

It does not appear to have been updated yet - however I can tell you I tried to use it yesterday on NIS v21 and it would not work - suggested I use the NRT??

I'm showing 2.5.0.6 as the download version - and that is the same as the past few months!

Thanks yank.

I supposed NRnR.exe could be used to uninstall v20 and install v21, but not to uninstall and re-install v21.

Theoretically, it is supposed to remove whatever Norton version you have installed and install the latest version available.  so at this time, I do not know for certain if the roadblock I ran into was for the removal of v 21 or that v 21 was not on the download yet? I had assumed that it could not remove v 21, although it did suggest to use the NRT?   But we all know about the word assume!  :smileywink:

Can someone from Symantec comment on when the Remove & Reinstall tool from www.Norton.com/nrnr will be updated to a version that supports Norton 2014 (v21)?
