Norton Removal Tool won't run

Hi

Have been having a problem with my PC, as part of the process of trying to resolve, I decided to reinstall Norton 2011.

I downloaded and ran the removal tool (which worked fine), then reinstalled Norton 2011 (also worked fine).

Turned out that Norton wasn't causing my original issue.

I ran a system restore, and this did resolve my initial problem ... however Norton 2011 is no longer working, no icons in the system tray, and cannot open Norton 2011 at all.

So, I figured I would remove and reinstall again, simple.

However, when I run the removal tool nothing appears to happen ..... if I try and run it again, it says it as already running.

The task manager process list shows the removal tool is running, but no window is visible.

What do I do?

Thank you

Michael

Solved.

Booted into safe mode, Removal tool worked fine.

Rebooted and reinstalled NIS 2011.

All fine.

Sorry about the monologue, might help someone else in the future though :o)

to run Norton Removal Tools i prefer always safe mode or else i uninstall in normal method:smileyhappy:

System restore often breaks the antivirus.  If you know you are going to a system restore, safe your identity safe and turn off tamper prevention.  You will probably still need to fix Norton.
