Norton Renewal for Broken Laptop

My Lenovo Thinkpad T430 has finally decided to kick the bucket after 10 years (I can no longer log in to my account) and my Norton subscription is due for renewal; this is done automatically.

I am in the process of buying a new laptop from Lenovo.  What is my best option with my subscription - still renew it or cancel it and why?

If you are replacing the dead laptop, and you want to continue using Norton, then you need to renew the subscription.

There is a  couple of things that you need to take care of when you get the new laptop.

  1. Be sure you fully remove any trial version of any non Norton security software from the new laptop using the removal utility for that software. Do this before you try installing and activating your Norton subscription or you could end up with some conflicts with the two products.
  2. To free up the activation from your old/dead laptop, log into your Norton Account and hover your cursor over the user icon at the top right and click on Manage My Subscriptions. Find your 360 subscription and click on Manage Licenses. If necessary, scroll through the devices and find the old laptop. Click on the trash can beside that device to free up the activation for future use on another device.
