Norton responce regarding FF31 incompatibilty with Norton safe search button!

Let me tell you about the "wonderful" experience I had with the Norton Technical support. I find Norton Technical getting lousy as the day goes by. on 8/2/2014, I tried to get some help from Symantec technical support via chat. Whoever got employed there was completely clueless. The first agent with a typical Hispanic name didn't have a good understanding of English language. He was working on my PC for 40 minutes and screwed up my Firefox 31. All my Add-ons were gone. He uninstalled/reinstalled Firefox 31, which was absolutely unnecessary. He couldn't even understand that I was referring to the fact that the green Norton safety search bottom disappeared after Firefox was upgraded to version 31. He was pointing at Safe Search Norton toolbar. No matter what I have shown to him, including IE 11, where green button worked on Google and yahoo, he was doing God only knows what. I asked him to get supervisor, After 50 minutes he disconnected the session. I had to reinstall all of the necessary add-ons. About two hours or so, I contacted another agent the Indian guy. He had no clue how to begin fixing my problem. His replies were 10 minutes apart. All his responses were , "Yes, I understand how you feel", "Yes, I see it". This conversation went on for 30 minutes, until I asked him straightforwardly whether he has any clue how to fix the problem. The silence went on for another 7 minutes. Finally, I have disconnected the remote session. At about 6:30 pm, I called to Norton, I was on the phone 45 minutes waiting. No kidding! Finally, the Technician picked up the phone. He explained to me that Symantec is aware of the problem with incompatibility Norton safe search button with FF 31. He also told me that their technicians are working on the patch to offset the problem. This also includes contacting Mozilla Firefox team. Apparently, Norton can't keep up with Mozilla Firefox constant updates. Overall, the time frame is 1-2 weeks until they come up withe the patch. His recommendation to me was that I should use IE 11 for now. What a day I had! Good thing I had plenty of Tylenol to kill my headache. Paying $90.00 for a Norton 360 and having lousy technical support like that, I say This Norton should cost no more than $20.00. Even that would be costly. Whatever had happened to a Technical support? They were so prompt and proficient. Everything is getting lousy these days!
