I'm trying to block ALL adult content using Norton safe search on chrome. I have Norton Safe Web installed on my mac and all 3 extensions installed on Google Chrome but for some reason I am still able to type in the URL of an adult site it still allows me to access it. If I just searched for instance, 'porn' (not a specific URL) I won't be able to access it, as it'll go through the norton safe search browser and so won't return any adult websites. However, I am still able to search specific URL's in the search bar of chrome and they won't be blocked.
If you want to block all adult content on your child device you can use Norton Family to do the same. It helps you to monitor your child activities and block adult content. You can create your child profile and setup house rules for your child. Please visit https://family.norton.com/ to setup the same.
Please do reach out for any further clarifications.
Norton does not have a web site filtering feature. You need to search for a DNS provider with content filtering. I use OpenDNS with a family filtering option that blocks adult content.
Ensure that your Norton Safe Search and Norton Safe Web settings are configured correctly. Check the settings to make sure they are set to block adult content effectively.
