Norton Safe Web Problem

In Firefox I do a Bing search.  The results usually have the green SAFE.  I've noticed when I hover over the OK, the NSW pop-up shows the safe details.

But I've noticed that the site name at the top sometimes doesn't match the site.  Here's an example;  For a Microsoft.com site NSW matches.

Here's an example where they don't match:

The site PC-File.com.  Now look when I hover ove the NSW icon.

NSW Error.png

It shows r.msn.com.  I never knowingly visit MSN.com.  So I don't know if this is program error, a Firefox error, or my computer error.  Just saying..

As always, TIAFlag.png

What operating system and service packs are you using, Al?  I'm on XP sp3 FF 3.0.10 and the only one that doesn't work for me is Sensis. It isn't as well-known a search engine and may not be supported.

What add-ons have you got in FF that pertain to security?

Scripting needs to be allowed for the search results page for whatever search engine you are using.  So if javascript is globally disabled or you are using NoScript, you need to allow Google.com, etc., in order to see the Norton Safe Web icons.

Javascript is running etc, using sp1 and also i dont have any other plugins or addons that i think wud affect it.

I for one don’t use firefox. However, is it possible that some of your old firefox entensions are outdated for compatiblity with ff 3.0.10? Is there perhaps a way to update extensions in firefox?

I dunno. Maybe Ill just w8 for the new firefox to come out...

Sounds like a good idea to me. At least you have IE8 installed to use in the mean time. Has there been any mention about this problem in other online forums? Perhaps in anything posted by mozilla or on their site?

Al -

Sorry just noticed this thread.  How are you doing the search with these search engines; on their main web page or through the FF search box in the upper right corner?
