I have tried both methods for verifying my site, but I still get the message that verification failed. The web address is hatfieldlawfirm.com or www.hatfieldlawfirm.com. I am using Yahoo Site Solution.
Thanks in advance.

Hello hatfieldlawfirm,
I am sorry the hear of your problem in getting your site ownership verified.
1) If you attempted to upload the nortonsw HTML file to your Root Directory, I do not have the ability to view that to see if it is properly placed. When you view your site structure, it should appear like this:
2) When using the meta tag method, the full meta tag provided in your Safe Web email confirmation must be placed in the head element. It would be similar to this:
<meta name="norton-safeweb-site-verification" content="ab01234cdef-567-gh89....(your unique 128 character code)"/>
In viewing your source code, I can see that you added only norton-safeweb-site-verification to your keywords tag. If your site building program precludes you from completing steps 1 or 2 as indicated, then you can add just the 128 character code to your keywords tag, separating it with a comma.
An example of this method would look like this:
309 North 4th Street, Murray, ky, ab01234cdef-567-gh89....(your unique 128 character code)
This method will not allow for the automated verification, but once complete, the Safe Web team can manually verify ownership.
Let me know when you have completed one of these steps and I'll be happy to check your site for the proper formatting.
If you would like to be notified by email when a reply is posted, go to My Profile > Preferences and check the box for: "Automatically Subscribe Me to Threads I Participate In".
Okay, the meta tag has been added. Thanks for your help!
Wow, that was fast!
The authentication code in your keywords meta tag is properly placed and I shall notify the Safe Web team who will manually verify site ownership. Allow them a day or two to respond back to you in this thread.
Once ownership has been verified, your site will be queued for the rating evaluation.
Be sure the code remains in place until ownership is verified. Leaving the code in the meta tag will not affect your site or the visitor's experience.
Best wishes for your website!
We have queued this site for analysis soon new rating will be reflected in safeweb.norton.com
