I'm having the same trouble I see others have had - I've done everything according to the instructions, but keep getting "verification failed..." even tho' I created a file with the auth code in my root directory--or what I think is the root directory. It's the same place that I have all the site pages. When I click on the link, the page opens with the code. Can't understand why it doesn't work.
Hi Peggyr:
I will ask one of the Symantec NSW reps to give you some assistance.
Thanks! Wondering if I need to go to my web host area to find the “root directory”…
Hi peggyr,
Can you tell us the name of the site you are trying to verify ownership for?
Please also give us the location on your site where you have uploaded the auth file.
Nithya
Thanks Nithya. The site is peggyrostron.com - location in uppermost area of site: peggyrostron.com/nortonsw… (etc.) Do you need the full file name, with numbers? I used my site editing program to do this.
just checked on my web host - it’s in the public_html (DocumentRoot) section.
Hi peggyr,
We have verified ownership of your site 'peggyrostron.com'.
We have also queued your site for analysis.
It should get rated shortly on 'safeweb.norton.com'.
Nithya
