I don't know what you mean by give acceptance. I logged back in to safe web, and under the "site dispute" tab I clicked "verify site ownership" and it gives me a message saying it failed.
Is there something different I'm supposed to be doing?
Any particular reason why you are using a secure https?
In the mean time I shall notify the Safe Web team to see if they can manually verify site ownership. Allow them a day or two to respond back to you in this thread.
If you would like to be notified by email when a reply is posted, go to My Settings > Preferences and check the box for: "Automatically Subscribe Me to Threads I Participate In".
I failed to put in the address of my second site I'm having trouble verifying. That one is www.americajanespeaks.net
As for the secured site, I totally misunderstood what that was when I signed up for that. I don't need it and plan on letting that expire. The good news is it was free, for both sites, so at least I'm not out any money.
Do you think I should cancel the SSL certificate before then or just let it expire by itself?
The choice of using https is completely up to you, however most sites use that only for pages where personal information (credit card info, etc) will be transmitted. One downside to using https is that if the certificate ever expires, visitors will be presented with a page warning about an expired certificate and then have to manually select to proceed to your website.
Once your site becomes well known and advances in the search engines, you will not want to make a change. So, what ever you decide, I would do it quickly.
As for americajanespeaks, I do not see any Norton Safe Web information on that page. If I'm missing it, please let me know.
