I am running WinXP, SP3. I just downloaded NIS 2012, replacing NIS 2011 which replaced NIS 2010, ... Norton SafeSite is part of that package. In previous versions of NIS, there was a Notron ToolBar that operated as an add-in to FireFox or IE or ... This no longer appears to be the case. I run 5 browsers (mostly to ensure that web pages I manage look OK); mostly FireFox. There is nothing related to Norton Safesite in FireFox (7.0.1), nothing in Safari (5.1), nothing in Opera (11.51) and nothing in Chrome. IE has SafeSearch but it works only if you also turn on Identity Safe (which I do not remember being the case previously. Interestingly, if you activate the Norton Tool Bar in IE but do not check the Identity Safe checkbox, the Tool Bar is visible but is completely grayed out. I honestly do not remember if Safe Site previously worked in Safari, Opera or Chrome (do not use them that much), but I am pretty sure it worked previously in Firefox because I hardly every use IE.
What do I need to do to get Safe Search into Firefox, Safari, Opera and Chrome?
Part of the FF issue may be that I upgraded from FF3.x to FF4 to FF5 to FF6 to FF7 in less than a month. I read that NIS 2010 and 2011 had a problem with FF4+ but that the problem was fixed in a mod to NIS 2011 (v18.5); so I assume that the fix was in place in NIS 2012
