Norton Safety Minder has been disabled - Active Directory Accounts

I have been experiencing the 'Norton Safety Minder has been disabled' problem (which seems fairly common on this board) and I have discovered that when a user logs on to a workstation with a AD Domain account NSM partially works; that is, the user's internet activities are monitored and bad sites blocked, but the time restrictions won't work and the user will not be logged out, etc.  You also receive the messages from the server stating "Norton Safety Minder has been disabled", which is partially true I guess.

 

This user has a corresponding local machine account also and when I log on as the local account user NSM works as advertised. Does Norton have any plans to support Domain accounts? Is this expected behaviour?

That thread really doesn’t address the AD Account problem at all. One other thing… the logged on user can go into the task manager and kill the symantec process which effectively disables the time controls (though the web filtering/monitoring still seems to work).  This is a user with NO administrative privileges by the way.  This makes this product effectively useless as a time monitoring/control system, especially for teenagers.  How do I secure the process so a non-admin user can’t delete it?
