Sorry for the confusion. The only problem that I am having is that web monitoring and blocking has stopped after I enabled passwords on my Windows user accounts. I am not getting any error messages, Framework or otherwise. I do get the startup message indicating that Safety Minder is monitoring activity, although nothing is blocked nor reported. I can't find any mistoggled settings in my OnlineFamily account. All Windows user accounts are identified and properly associated in that account and web monitoring is checked (among other things). Windows user accounts for my daughters are both restricted access (not administrator). I have Safety Minder v 1.2.0-36 installed on my PC which is running Windows XP Media Center Edition with all of the latest service packs.
I have had no luck to reproduce it so far. I would like to setup a remote desktop access and see what's going on. You're welcome to send me a private message or an email for details. You can find my email address at http://community.norton.com/norton/profile?user.id=15038.
I have a similar problem: I have a new laptop with Windows 7 with an account for my son, set as a Standard User; Norton Safety Minder reports it is online and active. However, it doesn't block / warn about sites I have listed if my son visits them. It doesn't appear to save or report the log of any of his web activity. Any suggestions?
Could you restart the PC and log onto the PC with your son's Windows account again to see if it helps? It generally takes a few minutes to show the activities on the Web activity page.
I’ve had the software on my sons laptop for a week and he uses it every day after school. I’ve been checking the account activity from my desktop every other day and haven’t seen any updates for his activity. I’ve got a second desktop that my other son uses (with Win XP) and haven’t had issues with it, so far.
Like many of the users who have posted to this thread, I cannot seem to get your software to work on my child's account (WinXP). I installed the software late last night, rebooted, yet nothing is blocked.
I performed some seaches (firefox) that should have been blocked, but they were neither blocked nor listed on my activity page.
Any suggestions?
P.S.
I've uninstalled, rebooted, and re-installed the software without success.
I'm pleased to say that my issue was resolved with KatieQ's assistance. The action i ended up needing to take was to remove all Norton components (i'm using 360) on the laptop in question and do a complete re-install. Only took about 20 mins so wasn't exactly onerous. The key to this was using the tool that Norton provide to make sure you get all the installed components. It's called the Norton Removal Tool (not sure if the name will catch on though).
Overall Safety Minder is working well with the following concern:
On my PC Norton Safety minder seems to follow the first person's login to the PC. Window XP v. 2002 Sp 3 Norton Internet Security installed.
My son and myself use the same PC with separate windows logins.
Example 1:
If he logs in first then Safety minder is active, then he finisheds and logs off and I log on - Safety minder is still working (I cannot get to "Shopping" category websites etc) The parent site reports my attempt to get to the shopping website. Even though the little doggie footprint in the task bar says "This account in not monitered"
Example 2:
I log in first - Safety minder is not active - I log off and he logs on - Safety minder is NOT working - his activity is not restricted. The little doggie footprint in the taskbar says the account IS monitered. Nothing is reported on the parent site except safety minder was turned off.
To get his activity monitered I have to Restart the PC and have him log in first - this is a work around but not preferred.
Any fixes? I could not find any solutions searching the support site

Hi there. safety minder continuously swicthes off and on with little pop ups saying it is working and multiple icons (4) showing in the task bar. when I click on the icons, they dissapear. Also have the framework problems. Are they the same issue?? Have sent emails with error info.
I have a clean install of XP Pro with all the updates + norton systemworks+nero8+itunes
have reinstalled it a couple of times with same results.
sorry for late reply, ( I was trialing other software for a few weeks) No the web activities don't get recorded as the software seems to stop working as soon as it starts. Its very strange that it works on my daughters computer though, in an almost identical software environment. I have reinstalled it today with the same probs and I'm still getting framework errors. Could there be a hardware issue?
