I have two computers in the house that the kids use. one is downstairs and is hardwired. the other is upstairs and is wireless. I installed online family on the downstairs computer first. created all the accounts (3) and it is running fine. then i went to the kids upstairs and installed online family and created all the accounts (2). and seems to be running fine on the computer also. but when i sign in to check activity it showes me a computer screen (Kids upstairs) and says “norton safty minder is not running”. then it showes me the three accounts that i created for the (kids downstairs). i can remotely check ,moniter, and change the accounts for the (kids downstairs). but the (kids upstairs) will not let me access anything. how can i fix this problem so i can remotely access the (kids upstairs). thanks
Hi hotdog800v,
Please make sure the Norton Safety Minder icon is active in the System Tray (not grayed out or with a red X on it). You basically need to follow the same steps as what you've done for the PC downstairs. Also, please name the two PCs with different names.
I would be more than happy to setup a remote desktop access and work together with you on this. You're welcome to send me a private message or an email for details. You can find my email address at http://community.norton.com/norton/profile?user.id=15038.
Thanks,
Katie
I got this and I don't know why. I didn't disable it and someone tried to log on for like 5 hours on Sunday night and no one was home. Should I be worried?
Norton Safety Minder on Home Office used by Avery has been disabled. As you know, Norton Safety Minder is required on every computer monitored by OnlineFamily.Norton.
Hi gbrandonc,
Could you give us some details on "someone tried to log on for like 5 hours on Sunday night"? What exactly did you see on the Web activity page?
I assume you also received Norton Safety Minder has been disabled message, right?
Thanks
Katie
