Norton Save and Restore 2.0 - Import old Backup sets..?

I have recently had to use the Norton Removal Tool to remove NIS 2013 and reinstall NIS 2012.  In doing so this also removed my copy of Save and Restore 2.0.  It also removed all my settings and backups.

Now I've reinstalled the software I'm wondering if it's possible to import the previous backup sets into NSR..?  It can see the data in the file and folder backup area but is ignoring the .v2i, .iv2i, and .sv2i files.

I can recreate the settings easily enough, so that's not a problem, but I'd like to get NSR to recognise the 557Gb of existing backup data.  Is that possible...?

Are you talking about File and Folder Backup or Recovery Points? I've never user S & R, but in Ghost you can import File and Folder Backup by...

Open the program.

Tasks > Recover My Files > In the 'Search in' box highlight File and Folder.

File > Import Backup Destination.

Browse to the folder your fbf files are located.

Now read THIS POST about F & F backup vs. Imaging and see why most users do not use F & F Backup and choose images instead.

Thanks redk9258 - I was talking about recovery points, not File and Folder backups.  I use a mixture of both and NSR could find the F&F data but not the Recovery points.

Following a slightly amended version of your instructions I could search the recovery point that exists, but I couldn't import it so that NSR could see the previous schedule, understand what has been backed up in the past etc to recover itself to the point it was at before NRT removed the software......

Those recovery Points are still usable for a restore or to extract files / folders using Recovery Point Browser. You can also mount them as a drive letter. You probably could get the history / schedules from a backup, but I wouldn't recommend it.
