I am running NS&R 2.0 on an HP pavillion laptop with Windows XP - SP3. 1.60 Ghz CPU w 1 Gb RAM
When I try to create the recovery point with a backup of "My Computer" (i.e., C;\ drive), I get to about 83-85% progress, but then it hangs up there. The icon shows the 0's and 1's stream moving as if it is still running, but this goes on and on. When I hit "cancel", I get the prompt to cancel, but then the status screen never stops. I have to use Task Manager to actually stop NS&R. I have selected only to have 2 backups at a time. Backup files are being created on my external drive, but I guess these are not complete. NS&R still shows that there is no recovery point established for the C:\ drive yet.
My C:\ drive is NTFS with 96 Gb total and 55.8Gb free - so I should have about 40 Gb of data that I'm trying to back up.
When I turn on my external drive, I get a pop-up message from NS&R asking if I want that drive (designated F:) as my backup destination. I click Yes. The external drive is FAT32 with 240 Gb free of total 298 Gb.
I just got the program, registered it and ran Live Update - I have tried the backup about 4 times now, a couple without using any other programs. I ran one backup overnight and when I got up in the morning, I found the PC had rebooted.
I did run a backup of My Documents and that went fine, so I can tell that the link between NS&R, my PC and the external drive is working.
.
Any ideas to get this to work for me?
Thanks
