Running Norton Save and Restore (1.0) on Windows XP Pro SP2
(Norton Save & Restore
Version: 11.02 Build: 20309)
Mounting of a v2i imaged partition no longer works, not sure when it stopped working. When I click on the option to mount a .v2i image file, Windows Explorer hangs and becomes unresponsive. Attempts to kill all requisite processes, relaunch explorer.exe or reboot the computer from Windows Task Manager are futile. I try to kill the 'V2iMountSvc.exe' process but it will not die. Ultimately have to hard-reset computer. See pictures. I don't have a picture of the system hanging but it's the scenerio where the only object you can actually use is Windows Task Manager itself. Explorer.exe hangs, it can be killed but it will not relaunch.

no matter if the .v2i file is on a network share (where it goes by default), or it copy it over to my local machine manually, the mount always hangs.
Please note that I CAN use Norton’s ‘Recovery Point Browser’ and explore the image files this way (as you can see in the final picture). So I know the image file is valid. It’s just the mounting that hangs the system.
I REALLY like the mount feature, and I really miss having this.
anyone else experiencing this problem?
Thank you
