I am using Norton Save & Restore 2.0 Version 2.0.6.26322 to back up my hard drive c: to an external hard drive E:. I have scheduled weeekly backups that have functioned flawlessly for years. A few weeks ago, I discovered that the backup would fail and give this error message:
Error E0BB001B: Cannot lock volume \\?|Volume {29f17687-17de-11de-91bc-806c6172696f}| because it contains the OS or has an active paging file.
What can I do to resolve this error and restore my program to its proper function?
Thanks for your input. I will give the repair install a try tomorrow and report the results. I don't believe anything else was installed that would interfere with the program, but anything is possible.
Ok. Here's what I did. I did the repair install and the program began to backup. However, after all night it had just backed up 3%. So I cancelled that.
I attempted to back up just My Documents. But, first I changed the external drive I was backing up to and I turned off the firewall. The program began to backup, but then I received this error:
Error E4BC0012: An interaction with the catalog’s database layer failed unexpectedly:sqlite3_step5: database is locked.
I presume this has something to do with a Sequel Server database that is on my computer. What do I do now?
I would personally never use File and Folder Backup. From the command prompt, you may want to try running chkdsk /r on the source and destination drives.
My last post indicated another error message which I was able to fix by following the soloution from a different post from the community. It seems that that fixed the problem, because Norton Save & Restore is once again backing up correctly.
