I just renewed, was having no problems, and now I am having several. I was upgraded to 360 Premier 2.5.0.5. The most pressing problem is: I installed on 2 computers. One is updating just fine. On the other ( older, but both with Win XP up to date), when I boot up I get a warning from Windows that my antivirus is out of date. I also get the same message from Norton. I either run live update, or I click the Norton "fix" button, and then live update runs. I have done this 3 or 4 times now. Each time it appears to run and connect and download. Finally, I get a message saying all files are up to date. I close that window, but the Fix issues notice to update and the message from windows remain, both telling me I need to update files. Rebooting does nothing. Another ( one of several) upgrade mystery. Any ideas?
The system time was off, and correcting that fixed the problem with Norton, which no longer shows a need to update. Strangely, even after rebooting, the windows security alerts still shows updating needed, while Norton says all is fine.
Which one of those "Intelligent update" files would you use for a Windows XP SP3? I'm not sure how many bits this system is.
Thank you, TechOutsider, I will do that. But in the meantime, the problem seems to be solved with Vineeths suggestion to check the clock. This fixed the Norton "need updating" alert immediately. But, the Windows security alert still insisted, after several reboots, that Norton was out of date(regardless of what Norton 360 itself claimed).
However, after leaving the computer off all night, there are no more "need update" alerts showing. So far so good. Thanks for the help everybody, on to more minor problems.
