Norton Secure VPN blocks Thunderbird despite being listed to exclude on VPN Split Tunneling

Detailed description: As listed in Norton help article I have enabled VPN Split Tunnelling and entered Thunderbird as an exclusion but Thunderbird is still unable to connect to it’s server unless I turn VPN off.

Product & version number: Norton 360 latest version

OS details:Windows 11

Thank you bjm. It worked a treat so can now leave VPN on all the time.

Sorry all but I was mistaken. The VPN was switched off automatically and there for I thought I was testing with it switched on. The problem persists when it is switched back on.

and you’re adding thunderbird.exe?
what does Norton support say?

Try resetting Norton to default worked for me.

good morning, I’m trying to configure Thunderbird email, with the VPN turned on and split tunneling active on thunderbird.exe, it doesn’t work when sending or receiving emails… If I deactivate the Norton 360 VPN it works. How can I solve it? Thanks and best regards.
