Hello. I ran LiveUpdate almost one hour ago and I received the new version of Secure VPN among other updates. Then, I restarted the machine and now, Norton Secure VPN doesn't run. It doesn't have the (Open) option, too. Also, when I right click on Norton 360 icon in the system tray and select (Open Secure VPN), it doesn't open it.
I've uploaded two screenshots below. Please check them. Any help would be much appreciated.
Others here have reported this issue since the introduction of the new 360 product. I too have one computer that will not work as you are describing. I have reinstalled many times with the same result. My other computer works fine.
Could you please upload a screenshot of your Secure VPN main interface? I couldn't find the download button.
When you first install the new 360 product, you may see the Download button beside the VPN feature. Clicking that will initiate the download and installation of the VPN function. After that you see what is in your image above.
In My Norton it shows what you have. In the box for VPN is a "Download" button. I just clicked that on the off-chance and it downloaded it. Also, I've had a problem with VPN switching off randomly and a Norton sign in box (email address and password) appearing for VPN. Previously it hasn't done anything and I've had to reboot to get VPN back, but this evening it worked okay so it seems the update has done something to improve things.
The VPN is being installed along with Norton 360 updates. How did you manage to download the VPN again? Actually, this is not possible. I checked for updates several times after the VPN updated; but there wasn't any new update for the VPN.
After my last post I redownloaded VPN and it started okay, but after a couple of minutes I got the VPN requires an update message again. I clicked OK and a few minutes later it started correctly.
I have this problem too. When I started my machine there was a red banner message saying that VPN required an update and would start after the update. I've rebooted several times but VPN will not run.
