I'm attempting to run Norton Secure VPN on my iMacPro running Mac OSX ver. 10.14.5 (Mojave).
I was able to install Norton Secure VPN successfully. The version that gets installed is 1.6.0.291. The application runs fine, however when I restart my iMacPro, Norton Secure VPN will startup at machine startup, and it will not start when I attempt to do it manually. I've followed the procedure to remove the software and do a clean install. The clean install was successful, but again, when my iMacPro is restarted after being shut down, Norton Secure VPN will not start-up,
I had a trouble ticket, Case No. 38931913, yet the problem remains.
Any suggestions?
Sam Dupree.
I am having the same issue with my Mac. When I turn on the VPN, it shows connection for a couple seconds and turns off.
Hi @starfighter,
I have sent you a private message with additional steps to try to fix cannot start Norton Secure VPN issue on Mac.
That would be in the "Dock", most of the app and preferences are found there. Viewing the system logs may also help to tell what the issue may be as well.
Cheers
Is there a Mac equivalent to the Windows System Tray where running apps can be accessed? That is what I was hoping could be found so the user can access the UI through that icon/button as you do in the Windows version.
Thank you SoulAsylum for responding to my post.
I looked at the article you suggested, and the problem I have is that because Secure VPN will not start-up, it does not appear in the Network option in System Preferences, so I can't set it.
Thanks for the suggestion.
All: Although I'm not a MAC user myself, I have owned an older MAC at one time. Not familiar at all with the new OS versions out there. I ran across this article and wonder if the OP has used the suggestions there?
Cheers
Again, I thank you for responding to my posting.
I'll answer your question this way. The only time the VPN runs is when I've followed the procedure to do a clean re-install posted at

When I start-up my iMacPro following a shutdown, VPN will not start-up either automatically or manually.
Hope this helps.
Just confirming. Your first post said "It runs fine, however when I restart my iMacPro, Norton Secure VPN will startup at machine startup," Your second post says " It will not start-up automatically when I start-up iMacPro." It will help to verify which statement is correct.
I am not familiar with Macs so I'll ask for help for you.
In the mean time, on Windows systems, when the VPN is active, you need to click on the VPN icon in the system tray to get the UI to show. Just clicking on the program icon on the Windows desktop does not display the UI.
Have you had the VPN working before, and now are having trouble? Or are you new to this program?
Thank you for responding to my posting.
The problem I'm having (and the answer to your question) is that Norton Secure VPN will not start-up. It will not start-up automatically when I start-up iMacPro. It will not start-up when I try to start it manually. Furthermore, in attempting to start Norton Secure VPN through the application residing in the Application folder, i.e., the user interface, it will not start.
Any suggestions?
Norton Secure VPN will startup at machine startup, and it will not start when I attempt to do it manually.
Please help me understand this statement. You say the VPN is started when you start your computer. Then you want to manually start the VPN? Why would you need to do start it if it is already running?
Or are you just trying to get the user interface to open?
