I just installed NIS 2011 on 2 machines - one machine was an upgrade from 2010 and the other machine was a new install.
When I used IE8 on the upgraded machine I get the "Norton Secured" icon on the search.
ISSUE:
However, with the new install machine -- there is no "Norton secured" icon associated with the search -- in fact the search has a green check circle instead of the OK. I have check the setting and they are both the same on both machines. The IE8 is the same version and also both machine have the latest MS patches installed,
Both software was downloaded from site.
What I have Tried:
- before installing NIS 2011 on the "new machine" I run the Norton removal software to remove NIS 2006 and Systemworks
- after this I install NIS 2011 and tested the installation but did not get the "Norton secured" icon
SO
- I again used the Norton removal software to remove the "new" software and re-installed it with the same results.
- I repeated on previous step one more time
- verified version numbers on the NIS in both machines ---> ( the same)
- Verified setting --> (the same)
- Tested several site with the same (but different) results
Why do I get different results?
How can I fix it so both machines have the "Norton Secured" icon.
I am running XP sp3 on both machines.
