Hello there, I need some help on the nortons security and antivirus for my windows 8.1 computer? I had installed the norton security and antivirus on my desktop and it had showed that I needed to turn it on in the action center once I tried to to turn it on it wouldn't turn on? Thanks in advance!

Did you use the McAfee Removal Tool? . You can get it from MajorGeeks

It looks like you have Norton Security with Backup. After running that removal tool, you should reinstall Norton Security with Backup to get a clean install of it.
Please let us know that is the product which you have.

Have you restarted the computer? A complete system shutdown and restart is required to complete any pending updates for Windows or other software.
If you use Windows 8/8.1 or 10, there can be an issue with the Fast Start feature.. See more information here.

Yes I had also downloaded the nortons download manager with backup? And I had also had on my computer mcafee antivirus which I think I had fully removed it once I had it removed it asked to restart my computer which I did?
Was any other antivirus product installed on your machine before you installed Norton? If so, you need to fully remove the other vendor product before installing Norton. If you tell us which product was on the computer we can give you the link to the removal tool for that product.
