Norton Security ATTENTION

I've done everything in my power to solve the "Attention" problem (I'm currently using the 12.4 version). I have installed all the Live updates and I ran a full scan. But the "Attention" notice is still showing up on the security tab. I have taken a screen shot attached in the PDF folder below for more info.

@SamuelY:

Recommended resolution:

fixing the date and time on your Mac will fix the error (re "Your virus spyware definitions are not up-to-date.")

To re-adjust your Mac time, hit that option and you'll be good to go:

Note that you need to disable the option "Set date and time automatically" first. For details, you may view this post@ https://kb.iu.edu/d/auxr

One more thing, a system/full scan is kindly recommended afterwards.

Hello

Please fix the date on your computer. The time on your screenshot is showing Nov. 24 which is a week from Thurs. (my birthday). Perhaps fixing the date and time on your Mac will fix the error since it seems like your definitions would be out of date.

Thanks.

@SamuelY: You're using a Mac computer, right?

The original msg from your NS for Mac is: "Your virus spyware definitions are not up-to-date. ...  You muse have admin access to resolve this".

Then, plz try these options:

1. Make sure you're using the "root" user (somehow, it's the Mac version of administrator account, ID + password). Re-try updating your NS using its LiveUpdate afterwards.

2. Ensure you have a good internet connection. E.G., can you access Norton.com/ Google.com fast? IF NOT, try these tips. Meantime, treat downloading the stand alone virus & spyware definitions for Mac as workaround. Note that, "A valid support contract is required to obtain the latest content. "

3. If your issue persists, export or save any personal settings you set up, e.g., some firewall rules you built up, then run this RemoveSymantecMacFiles removal utility, which allows you to start from scratch.

4. Chat with Norton Support if the above 3 options can't help U out.

Well, please post back if this or any other comment solves your problem. Thx

PS: Remember to remove your personal information when making or sharing screen shot.

And, I kindly recommend changing or using a strong password ASAP to protect your (Norton) account and/or email.
