This is in relation to the Intel XTU application v6.0.2.2. Up until this version there have been no issues with this application. The file installs Ok but fails to start properly in Windows 10 as a file is blocked by Norton which thinks it is Trojan.Gen.SMH. There is also an entry in the Norton log which is Statistical Submission: Trojan.Gen.SMH with no action available or required. The file is c:\program files (x86)\intel\intel(r) extreme tuning utility\client\profilehelpermodel.dll. The odd thing is that this file does not exist in the defined folder. Nor is it in quarantine. Due to the nature of the problem there is no file to submit, just the .exe application which can't be provided as there is a 20 MB limit on uploads so I gave the URL for the team to download, install and investigate. I raised this submission 2 weeks ago and had confirmation of a tracking number but no feedback since which is very disappointing and endless chat sessions with Norton Support are getting nowhere.
I notice that the thread "pe_rom.dll detected as Trojan.Gen.SMH.2" has a similar characteristic of a reported file which is not actually found but the Norton process blocks the ultimate application.
Anyone with similar issues or any ideas?
