Norton Security Deluxe Install

I purchased Norton Security Deluxe 5 Device (Mailed Product key )  from Amazon.com.  Went to Norton.com/setup.....entered Product key  and received message that product was successfully redeemed but set up could not be started due to error B0740E.  Told to call a number to fix issue.  I did and Technician (named Mike but heavily accented) had me use fastsupport.com  to allow him remote access to my PC.   From there things got rather unusual and very worrisome.   Does this sound right?
