Norton Security does not install

All of the following seems to be a result of updating Mac OS X to 11.2.2 ....

Using Norton Security Ultra.

After solving the problem of not being to access anything either inside or outside my home network[1], I found that the Norton application crashed immediately when attempting to launch it. Finding instructions at the Norton website to uninstall the program (though an "uninstall" command was not to found) and moving it to the Trash, a reinstall eludes success, even after at least six attempts and reboots. Even though success seems indicated, installation seems impossible.

Anyone understand the cause and how to achieve a remedy?[2]

Thanks.

[1]The problem was the Norton Security service as found in the System Preferences > Network services selection area of that dialog - its removal took care of the problem - network access inside and out was restored.

[2]In efforts to troubleshoot this problem, as many references to Symantec and/or Norton that could be found in the System Library, User Library, Applications Support folders including any *.plist files have been removed from the system HD.

Thanks.

Hello Jeremy. I've asked for your post to be moved to the Norton for MAC boards where it will get the appropriate attention.
