Greetings,
I'm currently running Norton Security on all my systems (three different ones, + two Macs but that's an entirely different client) and the Firewall keeps prompting each and every time I get a Steam, Skype or game update of any sort.
Each and every time it keeps resolving to "Unproven" and "Block this instance (recommended)" which is perfectly fine, but not with common applications like Steam, Skype and various known video games. I keep clicking "more details" and "Trust Now" but I'm getting tired of having to do this each and every time I get a small Skype, Steam or game update of any kind. Sometimes the prompt for Skype is getting displayed while I'm away from the computer so it defaults to block so when I try to run a Skype call it just fails.
What's the reason behind this very strict behaviour? I have used Norton for years, and I also use Symantec Endpoint Protection on my server and from my experience Norton / Symantec has never resolved in this harsh and strict firewall behaviour? Allowing Steam.exe, Skype.exe etc.. does not work as the rules seems to be ignored upon an update as the exe information is getting changed. It's not an isolated issue either as I have the exact same issue on all three of my systems at home.
