Norton Security not updating

For the last couple of hours I have been trying to update Norton Security on my desk top with windows XP, as it says 'Virus & spyware definitions not up to date'. Clicking on 'fix' goes through the motions but it ends up the same. The error code is 8921 252.  Any advice please?

First thing please verify your system clock displays the correct date, time and time zone.

 

Next follow the instructions to run the Intelligent Updater

This could also be connected to your other question about the Proxy settings. Uncheck the proxy setting and try LiveUpdate again.

Yes I thought there was probably a connection, but wanted to know more about 'proxy server' so messaged it separately.  I was going to delete the info in proxy server on desk top which does not appear on lap top. but having another go today, the problem with security not updating suddenly righted itself. :smileysurprised:
