So the other day I get this popup that says my subscription has expired for "Norton Security", which I thought was weird because my subscription does not expire for another year. So I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but apparently I did not do that properly and ended up downloading and installing "Norton Security Scan" instead of "Norton Security". Fine and dandy, once I figured this out, I went back to the Norton web site, logged in, and figured out how to do it proper. That worked fine, I got my Norton Security installed and the subscription error was resolved. So now I try to uninstall this "Norton Security Scan" a few times which fails every time. At this point I am getting tired and figure, well its not that much of an issue, I can still use my pc and whatnot, so I just leave it the way it is. Next day I am trying to install something else and I get an error from windows installer saying that the previous install which was "Norton Security Scan" did not finish properly and it cannot continue. Then it rolls back the current install which leaves my pc in the state of not being able to install any more programs, nor can I uninstall the one that is causing the issue. Then of course I come here to these forums looking for an answer only to find many other posts with the same issue and no solutions anywhere. Not only that, those posts are closed and locked. The one post that I thought might have had a possible solution (some kind of removal tool), leads to a 404 error. LMAO
So After being at this for a couple of days and just about ready to format/reinstall windows, I did find that "Revo uninstaller" did the trick.
So what is the solution I am looking for, if I already fixed the problem? you ask..
A good solution to this might be to fix your software?
