For a few weeks now I've had what must be some kind of free trial of some sort of security scan. When i turn on my computer and my desktop loads sometimes the shortcut icon that's there is "Norton Security Scan" and sometimes it's "SymInstallStub".
I've been trying to get rid of this for the last week or so, I've followed guides and downloaded Norton software removal tools and even deleted it from my registry and the one time when I finally load my computer and I don't see it there, 2 minutes later it automatically starts reinstalling and I can't stop it.
So today I finally just decided to just keep it and run a scan and see what it's like, so I did and it tells me I have Low Risk threats but I have to pay for a full version to remove them, which I can't afford to do at the moment.
Normally it wouldn't be a problem to just keep this installed, however it makes my computer start up slower half the time and makes my desktop icons load slower and starts automatic scans every now and then which I can't turn off and get annoying at times.
So I was just wondering how I would go about deleting and uninstalling this for good. I've tried uninstalling it from "Add/Remove Programs", using Norton software removal tools, deleting it from my registry, but nothing seems to work.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks for your time reading this unnecessarily long post :)
