In this PCMag review of NIS 2011,
http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2368876,00.asp
it mentions the application scan:
Norton's application scan also runs during idle time, identifying known good programs on your system that don't need to be scanned. Manually invoking the application scan speeds up that first full antivirus scan significantly. On my clean test system, running a full scan before the application scan took over 45 minutes; afterward it took just over two minutes.
Is this application scan feature missing in Norton Security Suite?
I have noticed that my computer with NSS takes 2 hours to scan while my other computer with NIS 2011 scans in such a short time that I never even see it happening. I am wondering if this application scan is the reason.
Thanks
