Norton blocks sending a scan job from a network printer to my laptop.
If I disable the FireWall it works. Which rule under the FireWall rules it stops the printer from communicating (send the scan job) to the PC?
Thank you!

Just verify, you are running the Comcast version - correct?
Also I am no expert in the networking area, however I do believe it may be a manner of setting the trust level in Settings > My Network > Trust Control configure? rather than a firewall rule.
Sorry I could not help more - I'm sure someone else will assist if you need more info.

Hi,
I don't see anything wrong with yor response
That would be my recommendation. The device must be seen and trusted before it will let any of the protected devices play with it..
Hope this helps
Well, yes I agree with you, but there is no such thing as Settings-Network...; there are rules under FireWall Settings, many rules. Which one do I configure and how exactly? Believe me, I tried...

From Main Page of Norton Security Suite > Select Settings > 4th entry down on righthand side (2 entires under Firewall) in the My Network entry - click it and on the next page (labeled My Network) you will find the Trust Control Configure+
BTW, if you have played with the Firewall rules and perhaps have some of them messed up - there is a Use Default at the top of each tab on the Firewall Settings page.
Click Tasks > Check Network Security Map
Then on the top right section click to highlight the network device and down below click the "edit" button and give it full trust.
You shouldn't need what I circled on the left, that was for the last guy.
That is how to change the trust level of the whole network.
Dave
