I have Norton Security Suite provided by Comcast. This morning I received a pop up message from my Norton stating that it had just blocked an attack on my computer and that the threat level for this attack was high. When I clicked on the message to get more info, it listed my computer as the "attacking computer" and stated that "network traffic from my computer name matches the signature of a known attack". My protection status is still green and saying "protected" and I've run a full system scan that has come back clean. What does this mean? Could I have a rootkit that Norton is not picking up?
