Norton (Norton LifeLock) is defragging SSD disks - when it does "performance optimisation" on my PC it does this.
There is a 'Cancel' button to make Norton stop doing this, so that it proceeds onto the next "optimisation" step.
However, Norton shouldn't even try to defrag a SSD in the first place.
Suggestions:
1) Norton should auto detect the System Drive C:/ as being an SSD
2) Norton should provide an option to turn this off - and have it turned off by default - I cannot find this in the Settings
3) The Performance Optimiser tool should have a link to show the user where to turn this off
I would also add - it's now 2020 and more and more PCs have SSDs, it may well be the most common form of storage.
Posted in this forum because there isn't one for "LifeLock" - LifeLock is (yet) another new name for Norton Internet Security as far as I'm concerned.
