I've been having issues with my parents pc on the network for about a month. Their pc has gotten really slow and you can hear constant disk acivity. sometimes in task manager you will the cpu spike to 50% even though it shows no processes in the task manager using any cpu? they have an old p4 win xp machine and they are constanlty getting bsod reboots....sometimes when the cpu spikes the pc will freeze every 5 seconds when they are trying to browse the web. I just installed a cdrom to try a repair installation to their windows.
A couple days ago i noticed on my pc, i noticed my norton stuck at 25% cpu. it just hung there till i restarted the computer. Then i noticed it behaving very strangely out of normal. well now i am getting the same symptoms as my parents on my win 7 64 bit machine. I noticed yesterday on christmas.....which is par for the course with these hackers......that now i am getting the intermittent freezes when trying to browse the web occasionally and randomly. I notice in my resource monitor when this happens .....that nt kernel & system and svchost.exe constantly using cpu when the the hdd thrasing. disk ativity usually just shows pagefile and other random files on my pc. but a couple times it showed ccvsvchost thrashing the hdd. so i used clean removal tool on my pc and updated to norton 2013.....did a full scan.... a full can with malwarebytes, nothing came up
. I thought i was in the clear. but today as soon as i turned my pc on the hdd was thrashing and low and behold nt kernel & system kept jumping to about 5-10% cpu. I've turned off system restore, i've turned of windows search and even superfetch. it doesn't stop it. and it comes at random. in my event logs....i do see at 11 pm last night....... Session "Circular Kernel Context Logger" failed to start with the following error: 0xC0000035 It seems though i have gotten this error a couple times int he past two years...but only in the months of december? I have installed no new hardware or drivers in the past week. I think me and parents to have the same virus. what i want to know right now though.... is it normal for the new Norton 2013 to show steady cpu usage when idle.....but label it no activity when i click mouse over it. how can i attach the screenshot of what i'm seeing.
I always have peopel threatening to hack me because i play alot of pc games and am outposken against cheaters and piraters. Once on Christmas day i've even had my mobo and vid card fried. Anybody have any suggestions for me besides reformatting? Should i contact ic3...lol I appreciate it tks.
