I'm fresh user of Windows 8 Pro, and I have a problem with Norton Studio Metro app. After install of Norton Studio and login with the same e-mail which I'm using in NIS 2013, Norton Studio says that I don't have any Norton product.
And 2nd part:
After upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8, Norton has several problems with WMI I think. I installed NIS 2013 on Windows 7 then I upgraded whole Windows to 8. After that Action Center yells, that I have turned OFF firewall and anti spyware software (instead of antivirus where it show that it works normally), but its visible on Action Center as available and switchable to turn it ON (but switch doesn't works, its changing state in NIS but not in Action Center). Full removal and reinstall sloves the problem.
You now have some info for fixing it before official Windows 8 release on 26 October. :)

Hi, W8 is still a beta program and may not yet have access to all of the nooks and crannies that a released product would have.
I would not look for any 'fix' before the release date. I would expect to see an update which will clean things up so that NIS is playing nicely with the released version of W8.

I'm using Win8/Pro/32bit RTM (Build 9200), NIS2013 (Build 20.1.1.2), and the Norton Studio Metro App. I'm not encountering the issues that you are reporting.
You say that you installed NIS2013 on Win7 then upgraded to Win8? If that's correct then I can think of a few potentially negative issues that could arise with the resulting NIS2013/Studio installation/configuration...
But before you attempt a repair, if you have set up an ID vault, you should first export your Identity Safe data since you could loose your info during the repair process and may need to re-import it to effect recovery. For added safety and flexibility you should export your vault content it in both .DAT and .CSV formats.
After saving your ID data try uninstalling - first Studio (right-click the App tile and select Uninstall on the popup bar) then use Windows Control Panel (Win key X to access quick menu) / "Programs and Features" to uninstall NIS2013. Note that you may also find it necessary to use the NRT (Norton Removal Tool) to get everything fully out cleanly. Then reinstall - first NIS2013 then Studio.
Stable Win 8 was released for students via Microsoft Dream Spark Premium programe (release date 23 August). So this is not the Beta.
avjohnnie: I just did that (removing and reinstalling) before I wrote this thread and still not working. I think it's falut on Norton Account server side.
I have license for 3 PCs, subscribed since 2008 year.

So if I understand you correctly, NIS2013 is now functional (after un-installing & re-installing) but the Norton Studio Metro App is not functional (even though it has been un-installed & re-installed)? And you tried using the Norton Removal Tool as part of the uninstall procedure...
If this is all correct then it may be a regional issue with the Metro App Store. Perhaps a SymEmp could comment on this?
In order for the machine status to display in the Studio app, or on the https://manage.norton.com/ website, you need to install the management agent on the machine you want to monitor.
You can install the agent by clicking the manage link in the product main UI.
Or, you can manually install the agent from the management website by clicking the add device link.
As an FYI, Microsoft does not allow store apps (previously known as Metro apps) and desktop apps to communicate with one another. The Studio app will show device status for any machine, or this machine, but in all cases communication is via the backend, not locally.
