Norton Subscription

I have Norton Security on my desktop computer and used 2 of the licenses for our androids.  What features of Norton Mobile Security are included with this license and which are an additional cost?

No, if you install NIS 2009(3 User pack which you recently brought) over NIS 2008/NIS 2007, it won't add the existing subscription automatically. It will just be replacing the existing subscription with the new one. That is, after installing NIS 2009, you will get only 1 year of subscription irrespective of whatever days of subscription remaining in the previous versions(NIS 2008/NIS 2007). If you have details(Order No:/Serial No:) of your subscription renewal for NIS 2008/NIS 2007, you can contact Customer Services (Click here) to transfer the existing subscription to your NIS 2009.

You can also wait for the reply from Symantec to confirm this.:smileywink:

Note also that with multi-PC versions the subscription for all of them starts from the installation of the first so they all expire at the same time regardless of a later installation.

So you might as well bite the bullet and install the others now since you have made the first installation.

You can try asking Customer Support if they can transfer days but I don't know if they will. It may depend on whether you bought the 2009 from Symantec or from a store/on-line other than Symantec.

Hello @BumbleChina

Scroll down the subscription page, click on the state designation and then select the United States.

How do I subscribe on my new email address?

Similar in English. Then enter the new e-mail address.

The language of the online Norton page is, I believe, determined by the country you are located in. BUT look on the line near the top of the page and below the thick yellow line should be a drop list of languages. Mine here in the USA is listed as English and when I click on the down arrowhead the first language I see is, I think!, Chinese. So look and see if you see English listed.

However in China there may well be overriding restrictions.

Having said all that it is for US Security reasons (and many would believe for commercial reasons also especially those concerned with local market support) it is difficult to renew a licenced product bought in one country, or group of countries, after moving to another and wanting to renew from there. We see this with US Citizens who are now located in Europe but want to renew what they bought in the USA.

However there are sometimes workarounds.

It may help to know which of the Norton products (especially since names change not infrequently and just have) and move your message from this Forum which is for non-technical, non-Norton discussions to one dealing with the same product and perhaps experience of the same problem.

Hello

Please try the following

1. Turn off Fast Startup and restart.

2. Log in using a Windows Administrative Account.

3 Sign into your Norton Account

4 Change your Default Browser to IE !! temporarily if you prefer EDGE.

5 Restart your computer doing the same thing as # 2 & 3.

6 Check and see if it still shows Trial version

7 If it does, try filling your key into the Enter Key or Renew---might be something similar.

Please let us know if this helps.

Have a Good Night and

Thanks.

Is it showing the correct number of days or Active on the main page of your Norton product?

If it is on your Norton Account web page that you see the wrong information, check that you have the Remote Management setting turned on. From your Norton Security product click on Settings - Administrative Settings, and scroll down to Remote Management and turn it on.

Then go back to your Norton Security product and click on Help - Subscription Status and your product should sync with the Norton servers.

Understandable, but it could be an extra feature for paying customers of Norton Security.  They already give us other extras.  And as for the free users, they would not have to pay for a VPN if they did not want it.  Or maybe WiFi security could be less expensive for customers who are already paying.   Just Sayin!

That may be so. But there are additional charges for the service that not eveyone using Norton Mobile Security would want to pay for if they do not want a VPN

Wifi security would be a very nice addition to the package.
