Norton System Doctor Stops Working

Hi,

I have replaced my 6 year old Pentium 4 computer running Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit operating system with a new computer running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit operating system. It took days to load all of my software, do the updates, etc. I have both the Norton Internet Security 2009 and Norton System Works Standard Edition 2009 software installed and working, except for one problem. It is one of my last problems and it is that the Norton System Doctor will boot up, work for a couple of minutes or less (it varies), the gauges stop working then I get a message saying:

"Norton System Doctor

X  An unexpected problem has occurred. Only continue if you must complete the current task.

Do you want to continue?

Yes  No"

If I click no, the System Doctor display closes. If I click yes, the System Doctor will start working for a couple of minutes or less, then the gauges will stop working and I get the same error message.

I have used the System Works on many generations of computers over many years. I have found its sensor gauges extremely useful. I have never had this problem until I tried to use it on a 64 bit system.

Has anyone encountered this problem, and if so, have you fixed it and how did you do it? I would very much like to get the System Doctor working continuously.

My new computer is an HP model quad core with 8 Gb of RAM and plenty of unused disk space on the boot drive.

Thanks
