I still have Norton System Works 2003 running on my PC. The anti virus subscription lapsed many years ago, however I will wanted to keep the other tools offered in the software suite. After the anti virus updates expired, I uninstalled System Works and then reinstalled it with the anti virus deselected.
I am currently trying to run AVG free on my PC. I have been told that driver symtdi.sys could interfere with the operation of AVG or any other anti virus software. My Norton anti virus settings and live update show disabled in System Works.
Please advise, may I safely delete the symtdi.sys driver or is there a way to confirm that it is no longer functioning?
