Hello,
I had a retail box of Norton SystemWorks 2006 standard which I never installed. Two weeks ago I finally installed it. LiveUpdate v3.0.x was unable to update the "Symantec Trusted Application List". I uninstalled LiveUpdate 3.0.x, downloaded and installed v3.5.0.64. LiveUpdate v3.5.0.64 is still unable to update the "Symantec Trusted Application List". LiveUpdate will correctly download the 9 megabyte's and try to apply the update. However, when LU gets to the end of applying the update, it will simply sit there and the CPU will hit 100%. After 30 minutes, LU simply errors out:
LU1801: LiveUpdate was canceled. You should run LiveUpdate again later to retrieve any available updates.
I have tried everything I can think of to fix this problem. I have removed all unnecessary TSR's running in RAM, disabled several programs from loading in MSConfig, disabled several services but nothing works. I put everything back after nothing worked. Because I am using SW2006, is it too late to try to fix this problem? I don't really care if the Trusted Application List is never updated. However, if someone has a fix, let me know.
I am attaching 3 GIF's for viewing:
1) LU 3.5's option to update the Trusted Application List.
2) The Task Manager showing my system at 100% and LU 3.5 near the end of applying the update.
3) The Task Manager showing my system at normal CPU of 6% and LU 3.5 erroring out.
My system is:

2 x 250 GB Seagate HDD's
1 x 120 GB WD HDD
