How do I make my Norton toolbar compatible with Mozilla 4.0 & Google Chrome? Ran into so many problems with Mozilla, I deleted it.
I have the same issue and have gone through the Norton help, which doesn't help. It prompts you to re-install Norton, which didn't work. If you open up Norton, you can find your identity card, but not drag it onto any existing toolbars. This needs to be fixed as it is a major advantage I used with Norton.
Hi tyme2rit,
The Norton Toolbar is not yet compatible with Firefox 4. A hotfix should be released soon, as announced here:
Google Chrome is not supported.
As per the status in the following thread, Norton Toolbar support for Google Chrome is Planned for future version and not available for the current Norton products:

For now, download and install older version 3.6.16 http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html It will overwrite your 4.0, and you will get back Norton tool. I just had the same problem. I didn't uninstall 4.0, just installed 3.6.16, which overwrote vesrion 4.0 . So, for now use Mozilla 3.6.16, until Norton gets a patch to offset problem with Mozilla Firefox 4.0. Then, you can update it back to 4.0.
Cheers!
Thank you - I installed the 3.6.16 over the 4.0 and everything is working again. It was quick and easy.
The Norton toolbar would become compatible with IE9 in early May. For FF4, a hotfix has been released (check out Hot Issues and Fixes section in the forum). I'm not sure if compatability with chrome is even planned, but it's a widely used browser and with the multitude of vendors that provide secutiy for chrome... Hope we see SafeWeb in google's browser in 2012 beta versions of Norton (I'm talking about SafeWeb, not the whole toolbar).
