Hello,
I am running NIS 21.4.0.13, Norton Toolbar 2014.7.3.12 and FIrefox 30.
Windows 7 64 bit, 8 GB ram Intel I7 4800MQ processor,
Windows was freshly installed. Firefox 30 freshly installed.
Firefox progressively uses more and more memory (>2GB) until it becomes completely unusable. I then have to restart Firefox. I have to do this about once per hour.
I began selectively disabling my plugins and extensions to isoloate the culprit. I saw no improvement at all, until I disabled Norton Toolbar.
Voila! Problem solved
I don't think this problem is in any way unique to this computer. I have 3 other computers and they ALL exhibit the same problem and disabling Norton Toolbar has been the solution forr each of them.
I have seen one other thread on this topic and the suggested solution was to update FF to version 30. I started fresh with version 30, so I don't think that will work.
Actually, this has been going on for over a year and I never imagined that Norton was to blame. Please tell me there is a solution so that I can continue using Norton Toolbar and stop having to continuously restart FF.
