Norton Toolbar disappeats in IE

I am running IE 9 and Norton 5 and just today the norton toolbar disappeared. It is enabled in the IE add on manger but will not show up when you right click the menu bar. I just check to make sure I have the latest Norton  and I do 5

I'm using IE 8, so this may or may not apply.  But in IE 8, as far as the toolbar showing up in InPrivate browsing, it also depends on what one has configured at  TOOLS>Internet Options>Privacy Tab, and whether there is a checkmark down in the bottom ot the Privacy Tab under the option that says "Disable toolbars and extensions when InPrivate browsing starts."   

If I remove that checkmark, then Norton Toolbar displays even in the InPrivate browsing mode (in my IE 8)..

If user Opens IE8  "In Private Browsing"  with  Disable toolbars and extensions when InPrivate browsing starts option is checked in TOOLS>Internet Options>Privacy Tab, tool bar will not be displayed  but we can see the addons which are enabled under Tools->Manage addons->Norton toolbar,Norton Vulnerability Protection,Norton Identity Protection.

 

Here user might be confused if he didn't see the option under  TOOLS>Internet Options>Privacy Tab and checks  the enabled addons status  under Tools->Manage addons

 

We have one more scenario to check in Private browsing :smileyhappy:

I have win 7 home premium and norton internet security 2012, any idea if norton toolbar will ever work for the 64 bit version of ie9? works in 32 bit, IE 9 64 bit has been available for some time would have thought that norton would have a patch to allow identity safe to show up in tool bar. i am still rather new to this and did not really see in prior posts that this issue was ever resolved. I might have missed something, sorry if this is redundant..

Welcome to Norton Community,

 

In NIS 2012, Norton Toolbar is not compatible with 64bit IE Browser and we support only in 32bit IE.
