Norton Tracking cookie?

I scanned my PC with SAS today and it found two adware.tracking cookies.  When I drilled down into them, they addressed to user at mynortonaccount[1].txt and user at www dot mynortonaccount[1].txt.  User is in place of my name and at and dot are to stop links.  Are these cookies normal and considered safe?  This is the first time I've seen a cookie going back to Norton's.

Hi PC-confused

FWIW

mynortonaccount.com installs 4 long term cookies...I can view them via FF as I store first party cookies until they expire....

may be related to normal activity which I suspect or related to the popup issue.  I imagine if you delete them they will be recreated next time.  That's why I save em'

The four I have are related to Encryption connection.

norton.com stores numerous long term cookies.

bjm_ - Thanks for the information.  I've run several SAS scans and this is the first time the Norton tracking cookies were listed.  Your information sounds good, so I'll leave them alone and let them do their thing.

Hello PC_confused

My Norton Account was recently remodeled so to say, if you want to call it that. It's quite possible that the new format that it is using has resulted in new cookies being formed.

Hi PC_confused

Thanks...if you were asking about any other site I may have been more reserved in my answer.

But, mynortonaccount.com is HTTPS ~ encrypted  and has a verified SSL Server Certificate and Norton Safe Web & WOT are clean/green and I am familiar with the site.

Cheers
